Introduction

The V1 award is a single NVQ unit which replaces the D34 unit. The revised standards are designed to reflect the requirements of Internal Verifiers in all occupational sectors, and are the benchmark of good practice in the Internal Verification of NVQ qualifications. This work-based, professional qualification is delivered via one-to-one tutorials, and is assessed via observation, written questioning , professional discussion and review of portfolio evidence.

Course Structure

Many assessors move on to the V1 Verifier Award as a way of progressing their careers. The key additional qualification with the V1 Verifier Award is the ability to work as an internal verifier within your organisation and monitor the performance of other NVQ assessors. This course is suitable for those who have been acting as an assessor for the standards being assessed for a minimum of one year during the last two years.

Learners will be assessed through the provision of a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate knowledge relating to every item listed for the mandatory unit taken. Different forms of evidence can be presented, such as assessor observation reports, questioning, or professional discussion.
