The EFAW course is ideal for most businesses to train staff as first aiders in the workplace. The course covers primary care skills as laid down by the HSE and Ofqual. This is an HSE approved course and is carried out by an approved instructor. This course is at least 6 contact hours and run over a minimum of 1 day. The certificate is valid for 3 years and to renew you need to attend another EFAW course. This course is taught 100% in classroom and not online. It meets the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.

Emergency First Aid at Work covers the following topics:
(a). The role of the first aider
(b). Communicating with a casualty
(c). Contents of first aid kits
(d). Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
(e) Administrating first aid to a casualty who:
-is unconscious
-requires cardio pulmonary resuscitation
-is choking
-is wounded or bleeding
-is in shock
-has minor injuries
There are no pre-requisites to enrol on this course however candidates must have the physical ability to carry out the procedures in this course.
