Introduction

The Level 3 Award in Domestic Energy Assessment Professional Development is designed to ensure that practising domestic and non-Domestic Energy Assessors are familiar with recent changes to the EU Energy Performance of Building Directive and the related changes to the rdSAP software and the revised Energy Performance Certificate. The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) requires that any DEA practising after April 2012 has passed this up-skill test. The qualification covers the knowledge required to continue practising as a DEA after this deadline.

The qualification was developed by Asset Skills in conjunction with DCLG, ABBE and City & Guilds. Learners taking the test may wish to progress to qualifications in non-Domestic Energy Assessment, Commercial Energy Advice or Green Deal Advice.

Course Structure

A course of 1 day training (Weekdays or Weekends)

Do I have to produce a portfolio?

No

Do I have to take an exam?

Yes, All learners will need to undertake a 1 hour on-line examination set by City & Guilds to demonstrate that they can evidence that they have acquired the required knowledge of the new requirements for EPCs after April 2012 and knowledge of the Green Deal.
